A wee bit of news...

Not a whole lot going on around here... okay, that's a lie. There IS a WHOLE lot going on, just not much new stuff. Mine and Tegan's days are VERYYYY busy (as you can imagine) with Charles gone. It's been hard, but not terrible. Tegan went back to the doctor this week for her stupid cold that won't leave...the cold is better, but since she had it for so long it gave her an ear infection. So, she is on antibiotics to clear that up and she seems to be feeling fine. She weighed in at a whopping 13 lbs. 0.5 oz. Wow. Yeah, she's a hungry hungry hippo.

Tegan and I hosted a dinner party on Tuesday for a couple of my friends from work. Tegan cooked a delicious lasagna! Yeah, I know..she's amazing. Margaret brought Caesar salad and bread sticks and Aden brought dessert and wine! Mmmm! It was a much needed girls night! Mucho fun + Mucho laughs!

Tonight Tegan and I are going to Olive Garden with the Montevallo soccer girls...and I'm SOO excited!! Rachy hasn't even met Tegan yet so it's a big night! I hope she behaves...and Tegan too. :)

Onto other news...I got a new car!! woohoooo! It's a 2007 Altima and it's wonderful and I love it! Sunroof and all! It has push button start which I think is the coolest thing since Pez dispensers.
Here it is...

Vroom Vroooom!

Okay, back to Charles. We're hoping he can come home next weekend (the 26th-27th). That way he can go walk the EBSCO 5k with me and Tegan! I'm sure he's excited about that...
We also put down our top 3 choices for duty stations. Ft. Sam Houston- San Antonio; Ft. Story-Virginia Beach, VA; and Ft. Rucker- Enterprise/Ozark, AL.

Honestly, I'm hoping one of the first 2. There's not much to do in Enterprise. But, on the other hand I'd be close to friends and family and fairly close to the beach as well. So that wouldn't be bad. We've heard San Antonio is hard to get, but Charles is quite the charmer so you never know! Keep your fingers crossed we get to go somewhere good! That's all for now...

oh wait..Tegan pics...

Hahaha I love this one!

THE Update... (finally)

Okay, so here's our BIG news ...

We are moving. Not quite yet, but for sure moving. Somewhere.

This year has been full of twists and turns, excitement and letdowns, and everything in between. Charles has been trying really hard for the past year to find something (job-wise) that would make him happy and that would provide for our (growing) family. And thus far, has come up shorthanded. Not for lack of trying...he has successfully passed 4 levels of jefferson county firefighter testing, but even after all of this it could be up to a year before he actually gets a job with a fire department. With Tegan in daycare, it's just become too much for us to handle so Charles enlisted in the Army. He's been in the Army reserve for over a year now, so the transition has gone pretty smoothly. He has been wanting to re-enlist since we met, but he chose to stick it out with me here and try to find something besides the military that would work for him. But things just didn't work out that way. The Army offered him a nice sized bonus that will help us out substantially in the future, and he was able to choose a job that, even if he does get deployed, it's a relatively safe job. He will be Quartermaster of Chemical Repair (yeah, I don't know what that is either) So that eases my mind a bit. He left April 9th for Baltimore for an 11 week training school for his new job and will be there until approximately late June/early July. At that point, we get to put down our top 3 options for duty stations and we will be moving. Until then, Tegan and I will be living in Birmingham. Since he is prior service, they usually give you your choice of station..provided you don't choose something outrageous like Hawaii. Clearly everyone would. At this point, we're thinking our top choice is going to be....

Drumroll please...

San Antonio!! (Get excited Wilson family!) Hopefully we will get our choice! We originally wanted Savannah to be our top choice (since I've always been in love with that city) but recently we were told by several high ranking soldiers that it's a very active deployment base and that if we went there, his chances of going back to the desert increase substantially. San Antonio is a beautiful city and I have family in Austin which isn't too far away! I'm sad to be leaving my family, friends, and my JOB (yes, I absolutely will miss you CC folks..you guys have been soooo good to me!!), as is Charles, but it's the best thing we can do for our family. I will be a stay-at-home mom, which is really important to me...only getting to spend about 2-3 hours with Tegan every day right now is really hard. I feel like other people are raising our baby and it's hard to cope with. I will continue to work until the end of May, which will give me a month to get everything prepared to move. Once he gets his orders we get 2 weeks to find a place to live.

So that's my update! I've been waiting on my boss to work out a few things before announcing, so out of respect for him I didn't want announce prematurely. Please keep us in your prayers and I will update again soon!

Much love...
