New pics

Not much to update but here are pics and a video of my big girl standing up! I don't have a video of her doing it by herself yet, but I will as soon as I can grab a camera quick enough!! She stood up all by herself in the middle of the room today, not holding onto anything! She was standing in the middle of the kitchen holding a towel up over her head, looking very victorious...obviously proud of her latest accomplishment. Yay Tegan!

And because we have run out of Christmas pictures, here is our Christmas picture! We are ordering more pictures soon, so if you didn't get one have no fear. We'll send them out once we have them! :)
If you click, you can see her 2 toothies!!
And for those of you who don't believe how curly her hair has gotten! She has soft little brown ringlets EVERYWHERE!!

My big girl standing up by herself!

Her puppy's face says it all...so precious.

and i'm having problems with the video...will add later.

Oh, and I found her a onesie for Christmas morning! Yeah, I know it's pretty useless but I saw this one and HAD TO GET IT! It had her name (and Charles) written all over it. I hope you get the joke. (Gold teeth, huge necklace..etc)

Big girl in da house...

Tegan has decided to make big moves in time for Christmas. Just this past weekend, her second bottom tooth popped through! The first one is pretty visible at this point, so I'm thinking in a couple more weeks I'll be able to get a picture of them! Right now it's practically impossible to get her to open her mouth for a peek, much less a photo op! And her second big accomplishment of the week is....
Well, Charles, Tegan and I were standing at the bottom of the stairs. Charles and I were chatting. Charles said "Shh...turn and look at Tegan!" and whaddyaknow...she is standing there. Yep, just standing there. Not holding onto a thing. Looking up at us. She stood there for about 20 seconds or so, then just sat down. Charles and I proceeded to jump and yell, which in turn scared Tegan and made her cry. But that's beside the point! Poor thing. My baby is standing like a grown up! I got video of her doing it again today, which I will post soon. Tomorrow I'm off to hunt for a job some more...

Just wanted to inform everyone of the big developments. :)

Christmas is around the corner...

Tegan's first Christmas is just 2 weeks away and we're so excited! I can't wait to see the look on her face Christmas morning when she sees her new stuff! We are getting her presents this weekend and we've narrowed it down to a few things, but we probably won't decide for sure until we go to Toys R Us. I bought the stockings and shoes for her Christmas outfit and put the whole outfit on her yesterday and OH MY GOSH she looks sooo cute! She looks like she stepped off a plane from Paris. I can't wait to take pics. I was surprised that she didn't try to snatch her beret off. Hopefully that means she'll leave it on for most of the night when she has to wear it. Her little toothy is coming along; it's more of a bump now and you can start to see it better. Speaking of tooths and biting and such....I have started weaning Tegan. As of last week, she was nursing 4 times a day and eating 3 meals a day. Now she is nursing 3 times a day, drinking 1 cup of formula, and still eating her 3 meals. Every week I am dropping one feeding until she's weaned completely. This decision has come due to the fact that I have decided to go back to work. Not permanently! Just for a little while. Charles and I have decided to try to buy a house here, so I'm going to work a few months to pay off our last bits of debt before we venture into the wonderful world of house hunting. With the economy the way it is, we're hoping we can get a house for a decent price. Fortunately, the military has plenty resources for buying homes, so we're going to start doing our research in January. I am currently looking at a few graphic design jobs around here as well as a museum curator job. Who knows...I just prefer to do something I enjoy if possible. But I'm keeping my options open. If it's only for a few months I'll take whatever pays well! I hate the thought of putting Tegan back in daycare, but I have to look at the bigger picture. We don't want to pay rent the rest of our lives!

Charles graduated Air Assault school yesterday! We didn't attend graduation because it was freezing, rainy and OUTSIDE, but we cheered him on from the warmth of the living room! :)

So I suppose that's about it for the updates! Say some prayers that I find a job!!

10 months old...

Little Tegie-wegie turns 10 months old tomorrow. In honor of her 10 month birthday, she has decided to unveil her first tooth!! Yep yep, it finally popped through. Which explained why she was kind of fussy this weekend. It wasn't her Grandma's spoiling after all! :) Haha...let me tell you that tooth is as sharp as a razor! WOW! It truly makes me want to wean her IMMEDIATELY! It looks like Tegan will have her 2 bottom teeth by Christmas...

Speaking of Christmas, several people have asked what to get Tegan. To be honest, she really doesn't need anything. But if you insist, here are a few suggestions:

If you want to get clothes, 18 month size is great. She wears 12 month now, but will quickly grow out of them. She does not need any toys! Wow, she has plenty! But if you so choose to give toys, she will happily oblige by playing with them. We ALWAYS love books though. Dr. Seuss is perfect. Other than that, we are planning on opening a savings account for her, so if you wanted to donate to that, it's perfect as well! We are looking forward to Tegan's first Christmas and she is excited as well. She is trying her hardest to "investigate" the wrapped items under the tree. So far she hasn't succeeded in crossing my moat of weighed-down boxes, but I'm sure sooner or later she'll figure something out. Sneaky girl.

As for other news, my brother graduates basic training tomorrow! Yay for him! So so proud of him! My mom, grandmother, and uncle are all out in Oklahoma for his graduation. Wish I could be there, but I'll be there to welcome him home over christmas. He leaves for Savannah, GA this week to go to Fort Benning for Officer school (OCS) for 12 weeks. I think he and Charles will be there at the same time. Charles is heading to Ft. Benning in January to start Airborne school, and can I just say he is absolutely stoked about that!? My brother is going to Airborne school as well...I think they are crazy. My wonderful hubby is graduating Air Assault class one week from today! So many schools and graduations it's hard to keep up with them. :) Keep them both in your prayers!
